FOMO

Night falls once more, the streets flood

The lines are as long as the ones in the bathroom

I put on my best outfit, makeup all over

For who? Surely not for me

The music stings my ears as much as the drink does my throat

11 PM, 12 AM, 1…

When does this get good? When does this start to be fun?

Sweat cascading my face, I yawn deeply towards the ground

The best years of my life

And I don’t know why

But me and my friends

We remain as empty as the bottles that we drink

A chore for my youth

To be free, to dance, to drink, to stay awake

I shouldn’t want to miss this

But on this dance floor filled with people

I’ve never felt more alone

Strike Out,
